1. When does the school year start and end?
School commences in the first week of June and concludes in the second week of April.
2. What are your school hours?
Primary school (Std. I to V) functions from 09.10 a.m. to 03.00 p.m.
High school and Higher Secondary function from 08.45 a.m. to 03.45 p.m. Higher Secondary classes may sometimes extend upto 5.00 p.m.
3. What is the State Curriculum about?
Subjects learnt in the State Board are Tamil, English, Maths, Science & Social Studies till Std. X.

Groups offered in Std. XI & XII are:

A Group – English, Tamil/Hindi/French, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology,
B Group – English, Tamil/Hindi/French, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer                 science

The Tamil Nadu Board of school evaluates students’ progress by conducting two board examinations, one at the end of class X for 500 marks and the other at the end of Class XII for 1200 marks. The scores from class XII Board exams are used by universities to determine eligibility and as cut-off for admission into their programmes.
5. What is the difference between State Board and CBSE curriculum?
The CBSE curriculum gives rigorous training in problem solving and application of principles. It is more conceptual.
State Board is more competitive than CBSE. It needs more of memorising the concepts. Many students opt for state board syllabus after completing X in CBSE, as they are able to get an easy score. It is highly textual.
6. What are the languages taught and which is the compulsory language in State Board?
English, Tamil, Hindi, French are the languages taught. The medium of instruction is English and it is mandatory to use English in the campus.
8. What is the difference in the curriculum of State Board and CBSE till Std. VIII?
Till Std. VIII the standard is mostly common, as we pertain to the same syllabus. The Core subjects remain the same but the number of examination papers differs. Matric students appear for Twelve papers while CBSE students write five papers.
9. Can the students coming from abroad cope with the State Board or CBSE syllabus?
Yes. They can. Many students from abroad have joined Shrishti and have found it easy to cope and score more marks as the teaching methodology helps them acquire the skills needed.
10. Is admission possible to any class other than Lower Kindergarten or Std. XI?
Only students who opt for Hostel accommodation will be provided admission to classes VI to XII. An extra section will be created for the hostellers if the number of students exceed.
11. What is the admission procedure to Padasala?
Admission to Shri Manu Makhija Memorial Shrishti Padasala is strictly restricted to the economically weak students only, from the thirty villages in and around Katpadi.
12. Do you have hostel facility? From which class?
A fully air conditioned hostel block, separately for boys and girls, with well ventilated and spacious Air conditioned rooms, accommodates students from class VI to class XII. The first phase of hostels will accommodate upto 400 children.
13. What is the school / hostel fee structure? What is the mode of payment – yearly / half yearly?
14. Do you have coaching classes for IIT, AIEEE, VIT, AIMS etc.?
Yes, dynamic & well experienced teachers organize coaching classes for IIT, AIEEE, VIT, AIMS. Study materials are provided and frequent tests are conducted to ensure students get into reputed colleges.
15. How do the State Board students face admission in Engineering & Medicine?
Admission into professional colleges are based on the XII board exam scores. Our school aims for cent percent result in the core subjects – Maths, Physics, Chemistry Biology. The students secure the needed marks through rigorous testing scheme. Refer our Academic records file.
16. What is the opening for State Board and CBSE students in higher education?
Both the State Board and CBSE students are well positioned in the most prestigious institutions like IIT, NIT, College of Engineering Guindy, MIT, CET, PSG, CMC, MMC, KMC, Stanely Medical College etc., CBSE students are able to clear AIEEE, IIT, BITS very easily as they learn the subjects in depth.
